I was blessed to get the chance to spend a week in Las Vegas with College Park and Green Valley Baptist Church. It was amazing to minister in different parts of the city, prayer walk, invite people to church activities, and share the Gospel with many people. My favorite part was just getting to love on the people in Las Vegas and spending time serving the Lord.
In the 1970s and 80s, College Park Baptist Church was one of the largest and most vibrant churches in Las Vegas. They were an evangelistic congregation reaching out to the city. Part of reaching out was to start new churches. In 1987 College Park started a new church plant in the Green Valley area of Henderson, Green Valley Baptist Church.
By the early 2000s, College Park was on a decline that was reflected in the changing neighborhood around them. In 2015, Green Valley Baptist Church, now one of the strongest Southern Baptist Churches in the state of Nevada, stepped in to save College Park by merging with the church once again. Green Valley paid off their debt, cleaned up the property, made repairs, and equipped the buildings with the necessities to house mission groups who will come and help in this much needed area of Las Vegas.
Today College Park Baptist Church, Ministero de Amor Church, and Calvary Downtown Outreach coexist on the property we now call the College Park Mission Center, a lighthouse to a community that needs the love of Christ.

CALVARY DOWNTOWN OUTREACH
A bright light of the College Park Mission Center is Calvary Downtown Outreach. Started in 2001, CDO has fed and ministered to countless thousands of hurting and homeless people in Las Vegas, leading many to Christ. CDO operates a thriving, full-scale food pantry providing essential groceries to over 400 families a month.
One of the ways local churches and mission groups get involved is through the Saturday Outreach. “Every Saturday, CDO hosts an outreach to feed not only the bodies of those hungry for a meal, but also their souls through a worship service,” says CDO founder Theresa Hicks-Guzman. “Visiting pastors and worship teams lead this group, which is their church for the week.”
There are always opportunities to help with the dynamic ministry of Calvary Downtown Outreach.
MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN LAS VEGAS FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD
We have established the College Park Mission Center so that Churches and groups from across the United States can join us in “Making a Difference in Las Vegas for the Kingdom of God.” We have created a complete mission trip experience. We provide housing, meals, and a daily itinerary of missions activities. Food distribution, ministry to the homeless, backyard Bible clubs, and construction, projects are just some examples. Leisure activities can include sightseeing trips to Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon, and the Hoover Dam. Many groups add days to take trips to California or the Grand Canyon before returning home.
Our prayer is to provide your group with a missions experience that you will never forget!

Green Valley Baptist Church
I am so thankful that I listened to God when He put the idea of joining in on my BSU’s Spring Break Mission Trip to Las Vegas. I was nervous about being outside of my comfort zone, but as soon as I got there my nerves were calmed and I saw God work through me and the others that came on the trip. I enjoyed every moment of service that we did and got to see God move through people I would have never even met. This trip opened my eyes to the joy of putting my needs aside to show others God’s everlasting love for them.
God is at work in Las Vegas! There are many people coming to faith in Christ and their lives are being transformed. We have great opportunities for ministry in the inner-city. We are able to minister to the people in the community, the poor and needy, and the homeless. I would love for you to take a short mission trip here and join God in what He is doing. It will be a life-transforming experience!
There are so many needs around this community. People who are hurting and hungry. People that have no hope. People that need to hear the Good News. We want to reach them with the Gospel. If you come, you will learn a lot. We go out to the community and knock on doors. God is answering our prayers and adding to His Kingdom. Please come help us reach this community for Christ!
